Cricket and Classroom Converge as University of Canberra Deepens India Connect
New Delhi, February 16, 2026: The University of Canberra has confirmed the continuation of the UC Cricket Challenge in India, reinforcing its engagement with Indian schools through a programme that combines competitive cricket with academic exposure and cross cultural learning.
Since its inception, the UC Cricket Challenge has created opportunities for school level cricketers in India to engage with Australia’s sport linked education ecosystem while participating in structured competition.
Professor Bill Shorten, Vice Chancellor and President, University of Canberra, Australia, said, “Sport brings people together. Through this initiative we are creating pathways for young talent to progress both on the field and in the classroom. Our focus remains on building enduring partnerships and strengthening people to people ties between India and Australia.”
