Emergency Care in Raipur Gets a Timely Upgrade as CRITICON 2025 Begins with Power of 3 Launch
The two-day conference brings together India’s top clinicians, with the ‘Power of 3’ initiative unveiled to transform patient response times
The city of Raipur marked a defining moment in its healthcare journey with the inauguration of CRITICON Raipur 2025, a national-level critical care conference hosted by the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) – Raipur Chapter in collaboration with Ramkrishna CARE Hospital. Over two days, the event brings together medical leaders, government dignitaries, and expert faculty to exchange insights and build stronger systems for emergency and intensive care delivery.
The conference opened in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Hon’ble Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh. Both leaders acknowledged the medical community’s consistent efforts in pushing boundaries and delivering quality care. Their presence underscored the importance of collaborative forums like CRITICON, where clinical practice meets public policy, and where Raipur positions itself as a growing medical hub in Central India. The gathering includes intensivists, anesthesiologists, physicians, emergency care professionals, and hospital administrators from across India. Through a series of workshops and expert sessions, CRITICON Raipur 2025 aims to strengthen clinical knowledge and build responsive healthcare systems for managing critically ill patients. From ECMO to neurocritical care and the latest in sepsis protocols, the sessions reflect a shared commitment to elevating the quality of care in intensive settings.
A major highlight of the inaugural session was the launch of the ‘Power of 3’ initiative by Ramkrishna CARE Hospital. Announced by Mr. Varun Khanna, Group Managing Director of Quality CARE India Limited (QCIL), the model introduces a structured, measurable emergency care framework in Raipur. Under this initiative, all emergency calls will be answered within three rings, ambulances will arrive within 30 minutes, and an emergency room doctor will attend to patients within three minutes of arrival. The goal is to reduce lag, save critical minutes, and create a new performance benchmark for emergency medical response in the city.In his address, Mr. Khanna emphasized the need for faster, smarter, and more accountable healthcare infrastructure. Describing CRITICON Raipur 2025 as a powerful platform, he highlighted the intersection of clinical excellence, operational readiness, and people-first design in critical care. His remarks placed Raipur on the national map for emergency innovation, supported by data-driven processes and real-time accountability.
Dr. Sandeep Dave, Managing Director of Ramkrishna CARE Hospitals, reiterated the institution’s long-term commitment to timely and accessible healthcare. He spoke of the hospital’s continued evolution over two decades and its responsibility to lead with innovation and compassion. According to Dr. Dave, the ‘Power of 3’ is not simply a campaign but a promise of preparedness in moments where every second counts. The event also welcomed international faculty including Dr. Marcus, a renowned voice in critical care, who shared evolving global trends and outcomes-based approaches to intensive medicine. Eminent national faculty such as Dr. Yash Javeri, Dr. Rajan Kumar, and Dr. Sonal Asthana led dynamic discussions on ventilation protocols, hemodynamic monitoring, and the ethics of intensive care. The keynote address by Dr. Suresh Advani offered a rare clinical perspective that bridged oncology and critical care, setting the tone for high-level multidisciplinary discourse.
CRITICON Raipur 2025 stands as a milestone not only for knowledge sharing but for policy alignment and future-readiness in emergency systems. The sessions promote cross-specialty learning, while the presence of senior government representatives further strengthens the relevance of public-private collaboration in health delivery.
The inaugural day closed with strong participation from across India, reflecting Raipur’s emerging reputation in clinical research, medical education, and hospital innovation. As the conference progresses, focus areas include trauma care readiness, advancements in ICU design, and case-based simulations turning abstract concepts into actionable protocols for hospitals in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The initiative reinforces Ramkrishna CARE Hospital’s broader vision as part of the CARE Hospitals Group under Quality Care India Ltd. (QCIL), a network backed by global investors and rooted in building next-generation hospitals. With a presence that includes leading facilities like Evercare Bangladesh and KIMSHEALTH Kerala, the group continues to invest in infrastructure, clinical talent, and real-time medical technology to strengthen its footprint in India and the region.

It has consistently expanded access to advanced care, including robotic-assisted surgeries, immunotherapy, and bone marrow transplants. Its 24/7 emergency department recognised by AHPI in 2025 demonstrates a commitment to medical reliability when it matters most.
As CRITICON Raipur 2025 continues, the convergence of experience, intent, and systems thinking becomes the focal point of discussion. The ‘Power of 3’ framework, launched on this platform, will be observed not just as a local upgrade but as a possible blueprint for urban emergency care across India. At Prittle Prattle News, we honor your dedication and inventiveness led by showcasing you in a positive light. On World Sight Day 2025, IAPB Report Reveals ₹3.6 Lakh Cr Annual Gain If India Prioritises Eye Health
Backed by Seva Foundation and Fred Hollows Foundation, the report urges urgent investment in school eye tests, cataract care, and glasses distribution
On the occasion of World Sight Day 2025, a landmark report by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), supported by the Seva Foundation and the Fred Hollows Foundation, revealed that India could unlock a staggering ₹3.6 lakh crore annually by prioritising cost-effective eye care interventions.
The report, titled Value of Vision, was launched at the United Nations General Assembly and presents a compelling case for investment in basic eye health infrastructure. It emphasises that interventions such as school eye tests, on-the-spot reading glasses, and improved cataract care could transform millions of lives while delivering one of the highest returns on investment in public health. For every ₹1 invested, India could receive ₹16 in economic return.
The findings are grounded in India-specific data showing a potential ₹2.27 lakh crore boost in occupational productivity, ₹78,700 crore from increased employment, and ₹40,800 crore in averted caregiving costs. The education sector also stands to benefit with gains equivalent to 9.6 lakh additional years of schooling.
India is home to over 70 crore people living with avoidable sight loss, a condition that severely impacts employment, education, mental health, and quality of life. The new data places eye health at the centre of inclusive growth, calling for early detection through community screenings, expanded access to reading glasses, enhanced surgical productivity, and systematic cataract care.Elizabeth Kurian, Chief Functionary and Trustee of Mission for Vision, India, said,
Investing in vision is not just charity; it is smart economics. We see every day how a pair of glasses or a simple cataract surgery restores livelihoods and uplifts families. For India’s growth and equity to be sustained, eye health must move to the core of national policy.
The report also highlights stories like that of Tula Ughada, a 19-year-old from Phangulgavhan, Maharashtra. Living with polio and poor vision, Tula was forced to drop out of college. After receiving a pair of glasses at a local eye camp, he resumed his studies, secured employment, and now lives a fulfilling life with his family.Peter Holland, CEO of IAPB, reinforced the urgency:
Sight loss affects every aspect of life. But the solutions are clear and affordable. On this World Sight Day, we call on schools, governments, and businesses to act decisively and invest in vision for a stronger future.
With over 1 billion people globally suffering from preventable vision loss, the call to “Love Your Eyes” this World Sight Day is more than symbolic. It is a call to action rooted in hard data, human potential, and the opportunity to build a more productive and compassionate world. At Prittle Prattle News, we honor your dedication and inventiveness led by showcasing you in a positive light. The third edition of the International Integrative Health and Wellbeing (IHW) Conference 2025 commenced at Kanha Shanti Vanam with a renewed call to align traditional wisdom and scientific health care. The event, hosted by the Heartfulness Institute, drew attention to the synergy between mind and heart as a pathway to holistic health, with Union Minister for AYUSH, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, delivering a keynote that emphasized this very connection.
Held under the theme Mind-Body Medicine for Cardiac Health, Lifestyle, and Mental Wellbeing, the conference witnessed participation from institutions including AIIMS New Delhi, ICMR NITM, and ITRA. Policymakers, researchers, medical professionals, yoga experts, and meditation practitioners came together to explore unified healthcare systems rooted in both modern science and ancient practices.

The serenity of Kanha Shanti Vanam is exemplary for a perfect ecosystem. Our traditional medicine is self-sustaining with no side-effects. The modern lifestyle related health problems can be dealt with the right interventions such as adopting traditional wisdom of yoga and meditation as postulated by Maharshi Patanjali.
He further highlighted the impact of the Ministry’s ‘Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan’, which aims to personalize lifestyle improvements based on Ayurvedic principles. This initiative is part of a broader push to digitize health access and embed traditional wisdom into mainstream preventive care. Shri Jadhav echoed the Prime Minister’s vision by stating that universal healthcare access is, in itself, access to justice.Dr Krishnamurthy Jayanna, Chair of the Heartfulness Research Council, opened the session with a welcome address following a group Heartfulness meditation. The meditative setting of Kanha Shanti Vanam, often referred to as the world’s largest meditation center, provided the perfect backdrop to explore the psychological and spiritual dimensions of wellness alongside physical and clinical aspects.
The event emphasized the value of combining traditional Indian medicine systems like Ayurveda, Yoga, and Meditation with evidence-based research and modern medical practices. Experts stressed the role of integrative health in tackling non-communicable diseases, particularly those driven by lifestyle stress, poor mental health, and cardiac risk factors.Across various panels, practitioners and educators discussed the need to validate traditional methodologies through modern frameworks and incorporate them into national healthcare strategies. Institutions like ICMR NITM and ITRA presented research collaborations and ongoing studies that aim to bridge the existing gap between empirical wisdom and structured clinical evidence.
As India builds a more future-ready healthcare model, conferences like IHW 2025 stand as pivotal efforts to unify ancient heritage with scientific rigour. Heartfulness Institute’s role in facilitating such conversations shows its evolving contribution not just to personal wellness but to systemic healthcare evolution. At Prittle Prattle News, we honor your dedication and inventiveness led by showcasing you in a positive light. Varun Khanna Calls for Urgent Shift from Infrastructure to Outcomes in India’s Health Vision 2047
Speaking at FICCI HEAL 2025, the Philips India leader warns against metric-led tokenism and advocates for impact-led patient care
In a keynote address at FICCI HEAL 2025, Varun Khanna, Managing Director of Philips India, called for an urgent pivot in India’s healthcare planning from infrastructure-heavy metrics to outcomes that reflect lived patient realities. His speech echoed through the summit’s theme, “CARE@25 Defining Moments in Healthcare,” as he laid out a five-point framework that challenges conventional models of growth.
Khanna warned against reducing progress to the number of beds, ventilators, or health centres constructed. Beds and buildings are easy to count. But true progress is when healthcare becomes available, affordable, and trusted by every Indian, he stated. Emphasising patient-centricity and value-based care, Khanna argued that India’s Healthcare Vision 2047 must focus on what systems deliver rather than what they build. He opened with a reflection on the sector’s evolution since independence, stating that while India has made strides in expanding access and frugal innovation, the next phase demands future-readiness, trust-building, and measurable patient impact.
Khanna’s framework for a future-ready health system included affordability, access, quality, frugality, and trust. He stressed that frugality should not be mistaken for cutting corners. Frugality in healthcare is not about low-cost care. It’s about high-value care innovating without compromising outcomes.A strong advocate for digital health infrastructure, Khanna also called for trust to become a policy metric. We measure beds and buildings, but we don’t measure trust. Yet, without trust, systems fail to deliver,” he said. Highlighting India’s digital health mission, he reinforced the importance of tech-enabled care that doesn’t alienate patients, especially those in remote or low-literacy regions.
Citing examples from Philips India’s health technology initiatives, Khanna advocated for a model where technology and empathy go hand in hand ensuring that digitisation strengthens rather than complicates the patient experience.Addressing the role of the private sector, Khanna argued for deeper collaboration between businesses and the government. Health cannot be delivered by the government alone. Nor can it be steered by industry in isolation, he said. His remarks urged policymakers and private players to share responsibility in building healthcare access that goes beyond tokenistic partnerships.
As India looks towards its 100th year of independence in 2047, Khanna stressed that healthcare should be at the core of national development. Healthcare is not a cost centre. It is a human capital investment, he concluded. His address served as a call to action for leaders, institutions, and practitioners to design systems that are resilient, inclusive, and human-first especially in the face of future health emergencies. At Prittle Prattle News, we honor your dedication and inventiveness led by showcasing you in a positive light.
