  • From Hazard to Health: Sintex Launches SMART Tank Made with 100% Virgin Plastic in Hyderabad

Economically priced and space-efficient, the new tank sets a benchmark for safe, sustainable, and health-conscious water storage across Indian homes.

In a significant move to redefine safe water storage for Indian households, Sintex, part of Welspun World, has launched its new ‘SMART’ Tank in Hyderabad. Unlike most market options that often use recycled plastic, the SMART Tank is built with 100% food-grade virgin plastic, addressing rising concerns over toxic contamination from low-grade materials.

While recycled plastic tanks may be cheaper, they often pose serious health hazards due to the release of chemicals like BPA, phthalates, and formaldehyde, which are linked to illnesses such as cancer, fertility issues, and respiratory problems. Sintex aims to steer the conversation from just durability and price to health and hygiene.
The SMART Tank’s unique tall design ensures space efficiency without compromising capacity, making it ideal for apartments, compact homes, educational institutions, and commercial spaces. It is available in 500L, 750L, and 1000L variants and can be purchased via Sintex’s dealer network in Hyderabad.

“Our aim is to provide durable, hygienic, and reliable water storage that meets modern needs while prioritising consumer health,” said Yashovardhan Agarwal, MD, Welspun BAPL Ltd and Director, Sintex. “The SMART Tank is another step toward building a water-secure and health-positive future for Indian households.”

This launch aligns with Sintex’s broader commitment to water security and public health through its ‘Saaf, Safe, Sahi’ philosophy clean, safe, and the right choice for families. As India becomes increasingly aware of hidden environmental and health risks, Sintex’s SMART Tank offers a compelling, future-ready alternative.

  • India’s B2B Travel Pulse: Caravan 2025 Expands with AI-Powered Tri-City Showcase

From Flyr’s launch to curated networking, TravClan’s boutique platform redefines the future of travel trade across Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

Caravan 2025, the flagship B2B initiative by TravClan, has further solidified its position as India’s leading travel trade platform with a successful tri-city run across Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru this September. Following its inaugural edition earlier in April, Caravan’s return in the second half of the year drew over 600 travel agents and 25+ top brands, signaling strong momentum for curated, tech-forward B2B engagement in the Indian travel ecosystem.

Held on 8th, 10th, and 12th September respectively, the three-city tour embraced the theme “Travel Meets the Future: Powered by AI, Driven by You,” anchoring discussions and product showcases around the role of technology in reshaping the way agents sell travel. A standout announcement during the event was the launch of Flyr, TravClan’s AI-driven tool that allows agents to instantly generate professional-grade marketing creatives, complete with itineraries and pricing. The solution is designed to bridge a major operational gap for small and mid-sized agents enabling faster client turnaround and better branding without heavy design support.

In addition to Flyr, Caravan spotlighted enhancements in AI-driven instant quoting tools and automation-led efficiency upgrades across TravClan’s platform positioning itself not just as a networking event, but a product-led innovation hub.
The boutique format of the event allowed brands to engage in deeper, one-on-one conversations with agents, collect live feedback, and introduce experiential segments such as wellness tourism and digital detox packages. For agents, particularly from non-metro and Tier 2 regions, Caravan offered critical access to trending global destinations like Dubai, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Bali, along with the confidence and content needed to convert those opportunities into bookings.

Chirag Agrawal, Co-founder of TravClan, noted, “Caravan is not about footfall; it’s about impact. Every session, every connection is intentional aimed at making the travel trade smarter, faster, and future-proof.”
With its latest edition marking its second successful outing in 2025, Caravan is poised to enter more regional markets over the coming months, reinforcing its role as the country’s most scalable and agile B2B travel ecosystem.

  • Tracks of Transformation: Mumbai Metro Line 2B Set to Reshape Eastern Realty

With Mandale Diamond Garden stretch nearing launch, industry experts foresee rising housing demand, rental yields, and new project activity in Chembur, Mankhurd, and Wadala

The first phase of Mumbai’s long-anticipated Metro Line 2B is now nearing completion, signalling a transformative moment for the city’s eastern suburbs. Covering a 5.39-km elevated stretch between Mandale and Diamond Garden, the corridor has cleared all rectifications, with the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) completing key inspections. Commercial operations are expected to begin by December 2025, according to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
The line forms a critical link in the broader DN Nagar Mandale Metro corridor, envisioned to decongest Mumbai’s overburdened east-west traffic and improve mass transit efficiency. Beyond mobility, however, Metro Line 2B’s Phase 1 is being closely watched for its real estate implications across Chembur, Mankhurd, Wadala, and other micro-markets.

“Transit infrastructure is one of the most powerful triggers for real estate appreciation. With Metro Line 2B Phase 1 going live, we foresee increased demand for homes and commercial spaces near stations, better rental yields, and renewed interest from developers for transit-oriented projects,” said a senior industry analyst.
Developers anticipate heightened market sentiment, especially around the five metro stations in this phase. Enhanced accessibility is expected to shorten commute times to commercial hubs, prompting new residential launches and faster inventory movement. Mixed-use developments, higher Floor Area Ratio (FAR) utilisation, and improved last-mile connectivity are expected to follow as infrastructure matures.

A spokesperson from Chandak Group, developer of Chandak Highscape City in Chembur (E), observed:
“The upcoming operationalization of Metro Line 2B is expected to significantly improve connectivity to key employment hubs, which in turn will enhance buyer sentiment, trigger fresh launches, and support faster inventory absorption across segments.”
Though immediate price surges may be moderate, analysts predict a positive trajectory in both capital values and rental income as the full DN Nagar Mandale line progresses towards completion in 2027. Adjacent localities are also likely to benefit as the mobility catchment widens for homebuyers, investors, and tenants.

As the final approvals are awaited, the city’s real estate ecosystem is preparing for a pivotal shift. With its first tracks laid, Metro Line 2B may soon redraw the realty blueprint of Mumbai’s eastern corridor bringing not just faster commutes, but broader opportunity.

  • From Concept to Command: Renault Appoints Sandeep Bhambra and Dr. Vikraman to Drive India’s Design & Engineering Vision

The new leadership reinforces India’s pivotal role in Renault’s global R&D strategy, spanning design, testing, digital architecture, and future mobility innovation.

Renault Group has announced key leadership appointments in India, strengthening its vision to position the country as a hub for global automotive innovation. Sandeep Bhambra has been appointed Head of Renault Design India, while Dr. Vikraman Subramanian will serve as Head of Engineering at Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (RNTBCI).
The appointments come at a strategic moment, as India becomes increasingly central to Renault’s global product pipeline not only in terms of cost efficiency and volume, but also as a source of innovation in future mobility, platform architecture, and software-defined vehicles.

Sandeep Bhambra, a seasoned design leader with experience at the Renault Design Studio in France, returns to India to helm Renault Design India. He brings over two decades of design expertise across passenger vehicles and advanced concept projects. His new mandate includes leading exterior and interior design for India-centric as well as global models. Renault Design India, located in Chennai, is one of four global design centers and plays a key role in concept development and adaptation for emerging markets.
Dr. Vikraman, with over 20 years of engineering experience across powertrain, vehicle architecture, and systems integration, will head the engineering function at RNTBCI one of Renault’s largest tech hubs outside France. His leadership will span full vehicle development, regulatory compliance, embedded systems, and collaborative platform work with Nissan under the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.

India’s Expanding Role in Renault’s Global Strategy
These leadership moves are part of a broader recalibration under Renault’s international strategy, which seeks to diversify its engineering and design base while leveraging India’s digital and manufacturing ecosystems. India is not just a manufacturing base for Renault; it is increasingly seen as a launchpad for mobility solutions relevant to both domestic and global markets.
RNTBCI, which employs over 7,000 people, is central to Renault’s activities in digital engineering, vehicle testing, and software innovation including in areas like advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment, and connectivity.

What This Means for the Market
For India, these appointments reaffirm Renault’s long-term investment in local talent and capability building. They also come as the company is reportedly preparing next-gen models tailored to Indian consumer preferences, regulatory frameworks, and infrastructure realities while ensuring global scalability.
The announcement underscores a growing industry trend where India, once seen primarily as a small-car market, is now a critical node in global design and engineering networks.

  • Pedal for the Planet Turns 10: Embassy Group Scales Up Bengaluru’s Greenest Ride Mondelez India

From 1400 cyclists to zero plastic, the 2025 edition of ‘Pedal for the Planet’ powers Bengaluru’s largest green movement yet.

A decade since it first put wheels to purpose, Embassy Group’s flagship sustainability event, Pedal for the Planet, returned with its most expansive edition yet. Over 1,400 cyclists families, professionals, schoolchildren, and sustainability advocates converged at Embassy Springs, marking the 10th anniversary of Bengaluru’s largest citizen-led cycling initiative.
What began as a corporate green campaign has now become a city-wide movement, championing environmental consciousness through community engagement. This year’s edition was not just about kilometers clocked, but milestones in eco-responsibility.

Every pedal stroke was designed to reinforce action: zero plastic was used on-site, filtered water was served in terracotta matkas, electric vehicles led the rally, and trees were pledged for every participating cyclist. Participants chose between 3km, 5km, and 20km routes, crossing urban greens, community spaces, and educational institutions, all of which played a role in shaping the event’s environmental message.
The ride also highlighted Embassy’s long-standing partnerships with sustainability-focused organisations. Highlights included an immersive art installation using repurposed waste, eco-carnival booths by school children, and live demos on upcycling and water conservation. Collaborators included partners such as TAICT and local environmental groups, who offered hands-on climate action activities.

“We’re proud to see how Pedal for the Planet has evolved into a platform where fitness, climate awareness, and community come together,” said a spokesperson from Embassy Group. “This 10th edition was not just a celebration but a reaffirmation of our commitment to creating climate-resilient communities.”
The 2025 event also featured a Carbon Offset Zone, where participants could calculate and pledge compensations for their daily emissions, integrating data-driven accountability into the experience.

As Pedal for the Planet enters its second decade, Embassy Group is planning to take the initiative to other cities, aiming to replicate its unique blend of education, mobility, and environmental action.
With over 10,000 cumulative participants since inception and tangible environmental impact from tree plantation to waste diversion the legacy of Pedal for the Planet continues to grow with every rotation of the wheel.

  • Safe Shelter, Stronger Recovery: Mondelez India Backs Child Cancer Families at St. Jude ACTREC Facility

ACTREC’s new 12-storey facility will serve over 700 families annually, with Mondelez-backed units providing free stay, nutrition, and counselling.

In a significant gesture of corporate social responsibility, Mondelez India has extended its long-standing partnership with St. Jude India ChildCare Centres by supporting two new residential units at ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre’s Navi Mumbai campus.
These newly inaugurated units are part of India’s largest pediatric cancer care accommodation facility, a 12-storey building that will provide holistic support to over 700 families every year. Each family will receive not only free residential accommodation, but also nutrition support, transport to hospitals, education for siblings, and counselling services essential enablers for uninterrupted treatment.

St. Jude’s “Home Away from Home” model addresses a critical gap in India’s cancer care ecosystem: access to safe, hygienic, and affordable accommodation for children undergoing long-term cancer treatment in metropolitan hospitals. This becomes especially crucial for families traveling from smaller towns with limited financial resources.
Mondelez India’s contribution ensures that two full residential units are available free of cost to families during the child’s treatment phase. These units are equipped with safe cooking facilities, sanitation, and psycho-social care infrastructure allowing patients and caregivers to focus on healing without logistical burdens.

“This is about more than just shelter. It’s about dignity, care, and emotional strength for families navigating the hardest phase of their lives,” said a senior spokesperson at Mondelez India. “We are honoured to play a small role in their journey toward recovery.”
The ACTREC centre, inaugurated recently, is now the largest facility operated by St. Jude India. With this expansion, St. Jude reinforces its mission to provide comprehensive care not just to the patient, but to the entire family unit so that financial or geographic barriers never stand in the way of treatment.

Mondelez India has been associated with St. Jude India since 2015, supporting thousands of families through donations, volunteering, and awareness programs.
