Hindustan Zinc closes a high-impact IITF 2025 showcase as CEO Arun Misra and Ministry of Mines’ Farida Naik spotlight the ‘Zung Ke Khilaaf Zinc’ campaign

At IITF 2025, more than one lakh visitors engaged with Hindustan Zinc’s galvanization awareness drive, vintage scooter demo, AR/VR mine experience and critical minerals showcase.

Hindustan Zinc’s presence at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 concluded on a strong note, with the company drawing more than one lakh visitors to its Mining Pavilion showcase and its public awareness initiative, ‘Zung Ke Khilaaf Zinc’. As the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and one of the top five global silver producers, Hindustan Zinc used this year’s edition to spotlight the importance of galvanization in building a rust-free, long-lasting India.
The centrepiece of the activation was a vintage Priya scooter displayed in two halves one galvanized and the other untreated. The installation instantly resonated with visitors, combining nostalgia with a clear, visual explanation of how zinc protects vehicles, infrastructure and everyday assets from corrosion. The demonstration allowed people across all age groups to understand the durability and safety advantages of galvanization in a relatable, real-world context.

Farida Naik, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines, praised the activation for its clarity and impact, noting that the effort represented the kind of public outreach the sector needs. She observed that the exhibit successfully simplified a technical subject by showing its daily relevance, making it one of the most engaging elements of the Mining Pavilion.
Hindustan Zinc also conducted on-ground conversations and a short quiz to gauge public awareness about corrosion, zinc’s properties and the affordability of galvanization. More than 2,000 visitors participated, offering insights into how the public perceives rust protection and the role of zinc in extending the life of steel-based products. The overall footfall of more than one lakh visitors reinforced the strong interest generated by the campaign.

Reflecting on the engagement, Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, said the intention this year was to make the concept of galvanization simple, visual and deeply relatable. He added that the response underscored how essential it is to raise public awareness about corrosion protection an area crucial not only to daily life but to national infrastructure and India’s progress toward Viksit Bharat.
Alongside the galvanization campaign, the company presented a broader technology and sustainability showcase. Visitors experienced an RFID-enabled interactive installation illustrating the importance of critical minerals for India’s Critical Mineral Mission and the global energy transition. An AR/VR walkthrough offered virtual tours of Rampura Agucha Mine and the Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter, while a dedicated display highlighted key products including Special High Grade Zinc, 99.997% pure silver and EcoZen Asia’s first low-carbon green zinc. An AI-based photo souvenir added another layer of engagement, and products from Hindustan Zinc’s social impact programmes, Sakhi and Upaya, reflected the company’s continuing commitment to community development and rural livelihoods.

Hindustan Zinc’s participation at IITF 2025 reinforced its leadership in advancing India’s Critical Mineral Mission, strengthening public understanding of rust prevention and promoting sustainable, long-lasting infrastructure solutions. The strong visitor response demonstrated growing public interest in material protection and the company’s larger role in contributing to a future-ready, corrosion-free Bharat.
