  • A dinosaur themed sneaker takes shape through the latest ASICS SportStyle and doublet partnership

The GEL QUANTUM 360 I AMP blends reptilian textures, bold graphics, and functional molding to turn everyday movement into an immersive visual experience

National, 12th January 2026: ASICS SportStyle has collaborated with Japanese fashion brand doublet on a new sneaker release titled the GEL QUANTUM 360 I AMP. The collaboration draws inspiration from the world of the Jurassic period, translating prehistoric imagery into a contemporary footwear design.
The sneaker features a bold graphic print of a dinosaur’s head that extends across the upper. A 3D printing process has been used to create a textured surface that resembles reptilian skin. In addition, three dimensionally placed polyurethane elements are integrated into the design, giving the impression that the outline of the dinosaur’s head is rising from the shoe itself.

These design elements reflect ASICS’ focus on precise molding techniques and functional beauty, with established sports technology incorporated beneath the expressive exterior. The approach balances visual experimentation with the brand’s performance driven foundation.
The sole design follows a color scheme inspired by the image of a dinosaur’s teeth and gums. When the heels of both shoes are placed together and the toes are moved, the visual effect resembles a dinosaur opening and closing its jaws, adding an interactive element to the footwear.

Designed to encourage a sense of play, the sneaker invites wearers to engage with the concept during everyday moments. The collaboration aims to transform ordinary movement into a more engaging experience through imaginative design rooted in technical craftsmanship.

ASICS is derived from the Latin phrase Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, meaning A Sound Mind in a Sound Body, which continues to serve as the brand’s foundational philosophy. Founded in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka, ASICS is a global designer, developer, and manufacturer of running shoes, sports footwear, apparel, and accessories. The stripe design featured on the sides of ASICS shoes is a registered trademark of ASICS Corporation.

  • We All Wear Capes the World Applauds, Until We Must Stand Without Them, says Niranjan Gidwani

In this thought leadership piece, Niranjan Gidwani, Certified Board Director, Board Member, ESG and Digital Director, writes on identity, success, and rediscovering the self beneath roles, recognition, and achievement

There’s a haunting line often woven into Superman stories. When you strip away the cape, the costume, the symbol, who is he? Clark Kent? Kal-El? A man trying to do good? That question, softly echoing behind every explosion and rescue, isn’t just about a comic-book hero. Neither is it about Steve Rogers of Captain America, or Tony Stark of Iron Man. It’s about us.
Today, the world seems addicted to costumes. Not physical ones, but the symbolic outfits of our titles, careers, designations, followers, luxury labels, and achievements. We wear “CEO”, “influencer”, “Director”, “founder”, or “parent” as identities as if who we are ends when those badges disappear. It is almost as if we have forgotten how to live without the validation stitched into our capes.

    When the Spotlight Turns Off
There’s a story about Muhammad Ali that captures this perfectly. Once, after he retired from boxing, a friend visited him in his Kentucky farm. They found him staring at a wall covered with photographs, the heavy belts, the glories, the magazine covers, now fading under layers of dust.
For years, the world called him “The Greatest.” But in his later life, Ali embraced humility and spiritual depth over fame. He realized that greatness has little to do with applause; it has everything to do with peace within.
Similarly, Princess Diana, stripped of royal titles, money, and power after her divorce, came face to face with a question few ever want to answer: Who am I, really, when I’m no longer ‘Her Royal Highness’? Her transformation after that, from palace figure to humanitarian icon, was her response. She discovered purpose, not position.

    The Performance of Identity
We live in a hyper-connected age where selfhood is on display 24/7. Social media has become the new costume rack. The corporate world mirrors this. LinkedIn glows with job titles and achievements but rarely with vulnerabilities. Our conversations start not with “Who are you?” but “What do you do?” Be it doctor, designer, or delivery agent, the answer is functional, not personal.
The American philosopher Alan Watts once said, “We suffer because we confuse ourselves with the roles we play.” His words strike deeper today than ever before. A doctor without her white coat feels invisible; a soldier without his uniform feels displaced; an executive without the corner office feels diminished. We’ve mistaken doing for being.

    The Moment of Stripping Away
Consider Steve Jobs. At the peak of his success, he was fired from the company he built. That humiliation became his greatest teacher. In his famous Stanford speech, Jobs said, “The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again.” Losing his institutional “cape” gave him space to rediscover his creative soul.
Or think of Socrates, who refused to escape execution. He didn’t cling to his identity as Athens’ greatest philosopher. He simply lived and died by truth. That serenity came from knowing that the essence of who he was could not be taken away, even by death itself.
We see this theme everywhere. When retired athletes struggle with depression, when laid-off professionals feel purposeless, when social figures vanish without their online audience. The truth is uncomfortable. Most of us build castles on shifting sands.

The Courage to Stand Without Titles
To live without the costume takes courage because it means standing naked in front of one’s own reflection. It’s the courage of ordinary people, like a teacher who continues to mentor children even after retirement, or a homemaker who rediscovers herself as a poet after her children leave. True identity begins where labels end.
The ancient Indian sages called this Swadharma. One’s soulful purpose, not bound by identity or possession. Similarly, in Japanese philosophy, Ikigai, one’s reason for being, isn’t tied to status. It’s about meaning through contribution. When a gardener tends to plants every morning out of love and not profession, he is more connected to his truth than most CEOs.

    Healing the Collective Illusion
Collectively, the world can only heal this identity crisis if we learn to value being over branding. That requires a cultural shift in education, where we teach children “who they are” before we teach “what they can become.” In workplaces that celebrate authenticity over performance. In societies that honor humility and service over spectacle.
When a society places mindfulness above material markers, compassion above competition, and relationships above recognition, it rebuilds character from the inside out.
    Lessons and Reflections
    1. Detach from titles, They describe what you do, not who you are.
    2. Value silence. True identity reveals itself in stillness, not in applause.
    3. Redefine success. Measure it by peace within, not possessions outside.
    4. Seek purpose. Align actions with inner values, not external rewards.
    5. Practice awareness. Reflection is the bridge between who you think you are and who you truly are.
    The Final Revelation
Maybe that’s the ultimate Superman lesson. That even after the cape falls, the hero remains. Because the cape never made the man, it was the choices that did.
The world doesn’t need more perfect costumes. The world needs more authentic humans. When we learn to love ourselves beyond our resumes, when we dare to sit with our unadorned truth, that’s when we begin to fly, no cape required.
“It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me,” says Batman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. Perhaps the truer version should be “It’s who I am underneath that decides what I do.” And that simple reversal could just save us from ourselves.

  • Food Innovation Takes Centre Stage at Cinépolis Cinemas Nationwide

The Blockbuster Food Festival will evaluate 21 new dishes across 40 plus Indian cities

Hyderabad, January 09, 2026: Cinépolis India has rolled out a nationwide food and beverage initiative with the launch of the Blockbuster Food Festival, a three month campaign running from January through March 2026 across all its cinema locations in India. The programme will test 21 newly developed menu items, with consumer response determining which offerings become permanent additions to the company’s food portfolio.
The festival forms the next phase of FOOVIES, Cinépolis India’s integrated food and movies platform introduced earlier this year. With operations spanning more than 80 locations across over 40 cities, the cinema chain is using its national footprint as a live testing environment to gather real time feedback on food preferences and consumption behaviour.

According to industry data shared by the company, India’s food and beverage to ticket spend ratio currently stands at approximately 50 to 55 percent, significantly lower than the global average of 100 percent. Cinépolis views this gap as an opportunity for growth and is focusing on menu innovation as a key lever to increase in cinema food engagement.
Devang Sampat, Managing Director of Cinépolis India, said food and beverage already contributes close to 30 percent of the company’s revenue. He noted that audiences are increasingly viewing food as an integral part of the cinema experience rather than a secondary purchase. The Blockbuster Food Festival, he added, allows the company to test ideas at scale and retain only those items that resonate strongly with moviegoers.

The rotating festival menu includes a mix of regional flavours and indulgent desserts. Offerings such as Desi Chicken Keema with Kulcha, Hot Garlic Kurkure Momos, and Dal Vada Tikki are being tested alongside items like Potato Bomb and Peanut Butter Cheesecake. New dishes will be introduced in phases over the three month period to assess sustained consumer interest.
Cinépolis India stated that the initiative reflects a broader shift toward data led menu development, where audience feedback directly influences long term food strategy. At the conclusion of the festival, the best performing items will be integrated into the regular FOOVIES menu across the circuit.

The company operates hundreds of screens across India and continues to invest in differentiated cinema experiences, with food innovation emerging as a key component of its engagement strategy.

  • European operations come into view as TravClan extends its B2B travel platform footprint

Co-founders Chirag Agarwal and Arun Bagaria discuss how capital support from August One is backing TravClan’s expansion and platform rollout in Europe

Growing demand from international travel companies is shaping the next phase of operations for TravClan, which is preparing to establish an on-ground presence in Europe. The move reflects the company’s effort to support travel businesses seeking scalable technology and operational infrastructure across regions.
TravClan operates as a B2B platform serving more than 15,000 travel businesses across India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Its model focuses on providing a unified operating layer that helps independent travel companies manage supply chains, distribution, and margins in a sector that remains largely fragmented despite its scale. The global B2B travel distribution market accounts for over USD 500 billion in annual bookings, yet many players continue to rely on manual workflows and disconnected systems.

As part of its European entry, TravClan plans to deploy capital support from August One to set up local operations, build supplier partnerships, and roll out its VOLT platform across key markets. VOLT is designed as an API-first connectivity layer that brings together flights, hotels, holidays, and experiences, allowing travel businesses to operate with greater consistency and efficiency.
According to Chirag Agarwal, travel businesses in Europe face challenges similar to those seen in Asia, including fragmented supply, operational inefficiencies, and pressure on margins. He noted that opening the platform to European markets is intended to address these structural gaps while supporting local partnerships.

TravClan’s revenue continues to be driven primarily by its Hotels and Holidays segments, which together contribute more than 80 percent of the company’s earnings. The company has positioned itself as an operating backbone for travel entrepreneurs by simplifying access to inventory, improving pricing visibility, and reducing dependence on manual processes.
From an investor perspective, Sameer Narula said the firm supports businesses that use technology to modernise traditional industries. He highlighted TravClan’s ability to connect agents, suppliers, and on-ground services within a single system as a key factor behind the investment.

Looking ahead, Arun Bagaria emphasised that the company’s focus remains on empowering independent travel agencies rather than competing with large online travel platforms. He pointed to shared infrastructure and advanced tools as ways to help smaller operators improve competitiveness and customer experience.
TravClan has raised over USD 8 million to date and has been recognised among LinkedIn’s Top 20 Startups in India for two consecutive years. Its planned expansion into Europe signals growing international demand for unified platforms that address the operational realities of travel businesses across borders.

  • Baby care enters the spotlight as Ed-a-Mamma applies its safety-first approach

Founder Alia Bhatt explains how Ed-a-Mamma is extending its focus on ingredient safety, sustainability, and everyday parenting needs into baby personal care

Baby personal care has emerged as a key area of attention for modern parents, with growing emphasis on safety, ingredient transparency, and environmental responsibility. Reflecting this shift, Ed-a-Mamma has moved beyond its established presence in apparel and early learning products to introduce a line of everyday baby care essentials designed for conscious families.
The new category has been developed around routine use products that form part of a child’s daily care, spanning skin, bath, hygiene, and laundry needs. The range includes baby wash, lotion, massage oil, talc-free powder, anti-rash balm, wet wipes, and laundry detergent. According to the brand, all products are dermatologically tested, paediatrician-recommended, and formulated using plant-derived actives, while remaining free from parabens, sulphates, talc, mineral oils, and artificial dyes.

The portfolio was introduced at a launch event in Mumbai, where discussions centred on ingredient safety and the evolving expectations of parents navigating early childcare. Medical experts and parents participated in conversations around how daily-use products can impact long-term skin health, particularly during a child’s early years.
Speaking about the expansion, Alia Bhatt noted that the move into baby care aligns with the brand’s broader philosophy of growing alongside families and responding to practical needs as children move through different stages. She highlighted that everyday routines often define parenting experiences, making trust and safety central to product decisions.

Sustainability remains a parallel consideration within the new category. The brand stated that for every unit sold, a fixed quantity of plastic waste is diverted through verified waste recovery programmes in India, positioning the range within its plastic-positive commitment. Packaging choices were also guided by safety requirements specific to baby care, with food-grade materials used while offsetting environmental impact through recovery initiatives.

The personal care products will be available through the brand’s direct-to-consumer platform as well as selected physical stores across major Indian cities. With this addition, Ed-a-Mamma continues to broaden its role from a children’s lifestyle label to a brand engaging with everyday aspects of parenting, where safety, sustainability, and routine use intersect.

  • Why homes should breathe before they impress, according to Karishma Trehan

The interior designer and Director at KT Designs discusses emotion led planning, originality in luxury spaces, and the role of memory in modern homes in an interview with Prittle Prattle News

For Karishma Trehan, design begins long before sketches, materials, or finishes enter the conversation. When stepping into a new space, her attention is drawn first to its untapped potential. She describes this as sensing the quiet possibilities a room holds, shaped by light, scale, and movement, which ultimately form the emotional foundation of every project she undertakes.
As Director of KT Designs, Trehan’s approach moves beyond surface level styling. She believes a home should feel lived, loved, and deeply personal. This, she says, comes from intentional decisions such as thoughtful layouts, layered textures, personal artifacts, and objects that reflect the rhythms of everyday life. For her, design is not about decoration alone, but about shaping how a space feels to those who inhabit it.

Balancing functionality with elegance remains central to her studio’s work. Trehan recalls a recent compact urban apartment project that tested this balance. With limited space and a client seeking a calm, refined environment, every planning decision required precision. Achieving a seamless blend of practicality and luxury, she says, reinforced her belief that thoughtful design can allow both to exist without compromise.
Her philosophy that space is the breath of art becomes especially relevant in cities such as Gurgaon. In fast paced urban settings, Trehan focuses on creating interiors that offer pause and relief. Light filled rooms, open planning, natural materials, and balanced proportions help create environments that feel calm rather than crowded, allowing art, life, and movement to coexist with ease.

When clients struggle to articulate their own style, Trehan begins not with visuals, but with conversation. She spends time understanding memories, habits, lifestyle patterns, and emotional preferences. Mood boards then help translate these insights into a visual language, allowing clients to recognise what feels authentic to them. Her role, she explains, is to guide and refine rather than impose a fixed aesthetic.
Among all design elements, natural light remains non negotiable. Trehan describes it as the soul of a space, one that transforms rooms throughout the day and influences mood, energy, and material expression. Without natural light, she believes a space remains incomplete, no matter how carefully designed.

In an industry often crowded with lookalike luxury, Trehan preserves originality by listening closely. Understanding the individual behind each project allows instinct and research to work together, resulting in homes that reflect distinct personalities rather than trends. No two projects, she notes, should ever look alike.
Social media, particularly Instagram, serves a storytelling purpose rather than a promotional one for her brand. She uses it to share process, craftsmanship, and behind the scenes details that give context and meaning to finished spaces, allowing audiences to engage with design as an experience rather than a visual alone.

Memory also plays a quiet but powerful role in her work. From childhood reading corners to spaces shaped around personal rituals, Trehan often integrates elements of a client’s past into contemporary interiors. These details create familiarity and emotional depth, making homes feel comforting and rooted.
The idea of being high end yet human, a phrase often associated with her work, reflects her belief that luxury should feel warm and inviting. Through tactile materials, soft lighting, and personal details, she ensures that refinement never distances the people who live within the space.
If she were to design a space purely for herself, Trehan says it would be defined by light, books, art, and simplicity. Excess would be left behind, replaced by serenity and authenticity, values that quietly run through every project she brings to life.
