AO NXT, Odisha’s premier regional OTT platform, is set to release GHAMAGHOT, the state’s first full-fledged action blockbuster, on 22 September. Directed by Mrityunjaya Sahu and headlined by Sambeet Acharya, the film represents a bold leap for Odia-language cinema, bringing a genre long absent from the regional landscape to audiences across the globe.
Produced by OdiaOne Studios in collaboration with AO NXT Originals, GHAMAGHOT is positioned as a milestone in regional entertainment. The film’s storyline blends adrenaline-fueled action with a deep-rooted cultural narrative, setting it apart from traditional Odia offerings that have largely focused on romance, family drama, or mythology.

Sambeet Acharya, one of Odisha’s most bankable stars, leads the cast with a performance that’s both physically intense and emotionally grounded. Director Mrityunjaya Sahu, known for his cinematic visual style and tight screenwriting, has aimed to make GHAMAGHOT a genre-defining moment not just in Odisha, but in India’s broader regional cinema circuit.
