    The International Integrative Health and Wellbeing Conference at Kanha Shanti Vanam brings together leading voices from medicine, Ayurveda, and yoga in a push for evidence-based integrative care models.

    The third edition of the International Integrative Health and Wellbeing (IHW) Conference 2025 commenced at Kanha Shanti Vanam with a renewed call to align traditional wisdom and scientific health care. The event, hosted by the Heartfulness Institute, drew attention to the synergy between mind and heart as a pathway to holistic health, with Union Minister for AYUSH, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, delivering a keynote that emphasized this very connection.

    Held under the theme Mind-Body Medicine for Cardiac Health, Lifestyle, and Mental Wellbeing, the conference witnessed participation from institutions including AIIMS New Delhi, ICMR NITM, and ITRA. Policymakers, researchers, medical professionals, yoga experts, and meditation practitioners came together to explore unified healthcare systems rooted in both modern science and ancient practices.

    Speaking at the conference, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Hon’ble Minister for AYUSH, said, The IHW 2025 is a confluence of major streams for holistic wellness bringing meaningful and relevant discussions and deliberations on holistic health. The serenity of Kanha Shanti Vanam is exemplary for a perfect ecosystem. Our traditional medicine is self-sustaining with no side-effects. The modern lifestyle related health problems can be dealt with the right interventions such as adopting traditional wisdom of yoga and meditation as postulated by Maharshi Patanjali.
    He further highlighted the impact of the Ministry’s ‘Prakriti Parikshan Abhiyan’, which aims to personalize lifestyle improvements based on Ayurvedic principles. This initiative is part of a broader push to digitize health access and embed traditional wisdom into mainstream preventive care. Shri Jadhav echoed the Prime Minister’s vision by stating that universal healthcare access is, in itself, access to justice.

    Dr Krishnamurthy Jayanna, Chair of the Heartfulness Research Council, opened the session with a welcome address following a group Heartfulness meditation. The meditative setting of Kanha Shanti Vanam, often referred to as the world’s largest meditation center, provided the perfect backdrop to explore the psychological and spiritual dimensions of wellness alongside physical and clinical aspects.

    Schneider Electric and ESCP Business School have announced the renewal of their joint academic Chair, “Digital Transformation for Sustainable Impact”, marking the continuation of a collaboration that began in 2016. The third edition of this initiative was formally launched on September 11, 2025, solidifying their shared ambition to drive real-world sustainability outcomes through digital innovation.

    The Chair, jointly led by Schneider Electric a French multinational known for sustainable energy management and automation and ESCP, one of Europe’s leading business schools, aims to bridge the worlds of academia and enterprise. It focuses on advancing applied research, pedagogical innovation, and corporate collaboration in the field of digital transformation with sustainability at its core.

    Originally founded in 2016 as the Internet of Things (IoT) Chair, the partnership positioned ESCP as a pioneer in digital transformation studies within Europe. Over the past nine years, more than 300 students have been trained through dedicated coursework, teaching cases, academic research, industry-led collaborations, and immersive study tours.

    In this new phase, the Chair extends its agenda to examine how digital tools can accelerate sustainable development across economies and organizations. Experiential learning takes centre stage, with the upcoming term set to expand learning expeditions and immersive initiatives across Europe. The initiative continues to nurture the next generation of globally minded leaders who are equipped to align business strategies with environmental and societal needs.

    The DS Group has been officially certified as Water Positive by the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA), registering a Water Positivity Index of 1.80. The certification follows a detailed 2.5-year evaluation of the company’s operations and water conservation efforts across 30 Indian locations. With over 66 lakh kilolitres of water conserved and stored, the group has emerged as one of the country’s most water-responsible corporations.
    Founded in 1929, DS Group has steadily expanded its sustainability commitments alongside its FMCG and infrastructure portfolio. This new certification reaffirms its position as a leader in long-term resource stewardship. The Water Positive Index of 1.80 indicates that the group replenishes significantly more water than it consumes.

    This milestone is the result of a dual-track strategy combining in-plant conservation methods with community water management projects. Within its manufacturing units, the company has deployed systems for water-efficient processes, reuse and recycling technologies, and rainwater harvesting infrastructure. Simultaneously, through its CSR arm, the group has undertaken large-scale water rejuvenation projects, particularly in the water-stressed regions of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
    The GRIHA evaluation, which is widely recognised as one of India’s most rigorous environmental assessment systems, tracked both the input-output water balance at DS Group’s facilities and the broader community impact of its projects. Certification by GRIHA further lends technical and institutional credibility to the group’s efforts.

    Notably, the company’s work has been deeply focused in regions where groundwater tables are severely threatened. Over the last few years, DS Group has helped revive over 100 traditional water bodies, built check dams, and constructed rainwater recharge structures across several rural districts. These projects have benefitted both agriculture and household access to safe water, aligning the company’s goals with the national Jal Shakti Mission.

    Speaking at FICCI HEAL 2025, the Philips India leader warns against metric-led tokenism and advocates for impact-led patient care

    In a keynote address at FICCI HEAL 2025, Varun Khanna, Managing Director of Philips India, called for an urgent pivot in India’s healthcare planning from infrastructure-heavy metrics to outcomes that reflect lived patient realities. His speech echoed through the summit’s theme, “CARE@25 Defining Moments in Healthcare,” as he laid out a five-point framework that challenges conventional models of growth.
    Khanna warned against reducing progress to the number of beds, ventilators, or health centres constructed. Beds and buildings are easy to count. But true progress is when healthcare becomes available, affordable, and trusted by every Indian, he stated. Emphasising patient-centricity and value-based care, Khanna argued that India’s Healthcare Vision 2047 must focus on what systems deliver rather than what they build.

    He opened with a reflection on the sector’s evolution since independence, stating that while India has made strides in expanding access and frugal innovation, the next phase demands future-readiness, trust-building, and measurable patient impact.
    Khanna’s framework for a future-ready health system included affordability, access, quality, frugality, and trust. He stressed that frugality should not be mistaken for cutting corners. Frugality in healthcare is not about low-cost care. It’s about high-value care innovating without compromising outcomes.

    A strong advocate for digital health infrastructure, Khanna also called for trust to become a policy metric. We measure beds and buildings, but we don’t measure trust. Yet, without trust, systems fail to deliver,” he said. Highlighting India’s digital health mission, he reinforced the importance of tech-enabled care that doesn’t alienate patients, especially those in remote or low-literacy regions.
    Citing examples from Philips India’s health technology initiatives, Khanna advocated for a model where technology and empathy go hand in hand ensuring that digitisation strengthens rather than complicates the patient experience.

    Addressing the role of the private sector, Khanna argued for deeper collaboration between businesses and the government. Health cannot be delivered by the government alone. Nor can it be steered by industry in isolation, he said. His remarks urged policymakers and private players to share responsibility in building healthcare access that goes beyond tokenistic partnerships.
    As India looks towards its 100th year of independence in 2047, Khanna stressed that healthcare should be at the core of national development. Healthcare is not a cost centre. It is a human capital investment, he concluded. His address served as a call to action for leaders, institutions, and practitioners to design systems that are resilient, inclusive, and human-first especially in the face of future health emergencies.
