Kalyani Brahmbhatt Memorial Merit Scholarship offers 60 percent tuition support to eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students
Merit based financial support expands for disadvantaged students through a new memorial scholarship at UOW India
GIFT City, Gujarat, 4 January 2026: University of Wollongong India has announced the Kalyani Brahmbhatt Memorial Merit Scholarship, a new initiative aimed at supporting meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by reducing financial barriers to higher education.
Through the scholarship, UOW India seeks to enable high potential students to pursue higher education based on merit and commitment, irrespective of financial circumstances. One eligible student from each of the university’s partner institutions will be awarded a 60 percent tuition fee scholarship for every year of study, subject to meeting defined merit and continuation criteria.
Speaking on the announcement, G Q Max Lu AO, Vice Chancellor and President of the University of Wollongong, said the scholarship reflects the university’s commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder academic potential. He said the initiative seeks to support deserving students while honouring the memory of Kalyani Brahmbhatt, who was an integral part of the university community.
UOW India said the scholarship is strictly merit based and need linked, and does not constitute a reservation, quota, or category based entitlement. The initiative is intended to widen access to higher education while maintaining academic excellence as a core value.
