  • When Protein Drops Off the Plate, a Pattern Emerges in Urban Diets, Says a Country Delight Study

Chakradhar Gade, CEO and Co-founder at Country Delight, and Dr Vishakha Shivdasani, physician specialising in lifestyle related conditions, said findings from the LocalCircles survey show six in ten urban Indians do not consume protein rich foods daily.

National, February 5, 2026: A large-scale nationwide consumer study has pointed to persistent gaps in daily protein consumption among urban Indians, despite growing awareness around health and nutrition. The study was commissioned by Country Delight in collaboration with LocalCircles and gathered more than 2,07,000 responses across 25 metropolitan and urban districts. The findings indicate that six out of ten urban respondents do not consume protein rich foods every day. Only four in ten reported including sources such as lentils, eggs, milk, paneer, fish, or nuts consistently in their daily meals. The data suggests that while health consciousness has increased, protein intake remains irregular in everyday diets.

The study also highlights a significant awareness gap. Nearly 74 percent of respondents were unable to correctly identify the recommended daily protein requirement for an average adult, while 85 percent said they do not track or estimate their protein intake at all. Over half of those surveyed were unaware that protein deficiency can contribute to fatigue, muscle loss, weak immunity, and reduced energy levels.
Affordability emerged as the primary barrier to regular protein consumption, followed by taste preferences and dietary restrictions. While most respondents indicated that protein rich foods are readily available in local markets, cost considerations and food choices were cited as limiting factors. Notably, 71 percent of respondents said they would be willing to switch to more affordable protein alternatives if such options were accessible.

Commenting on the health implications, Vishakha Shivdasani said protein deficiency is often underestimated in India and affects muscle health, immunity, metabolic balance, and long-term wellbeing across age groups. She said protein should be viewed as a foundational nutrient rather than a fitness trend.
Speaking on the survey insights, Chakradhar Gade said the findings reinforce the need to address affordability, awareness, and convenience together. He said Country Delight is expanding its range of high-protein everyday essentials to help consumers meet their nutritional needs through familiar foods rather than supplements.

In line with the study’s findings, Country Delight has introduced High Protein Cow’s Milk, which delivers 30 grams of protein per 450 ml serving and meets 50 percent of the recommended daily allowance. The product uses natural filtration technology without added protein powders, stabilisers, or artificial ingredients. The company has also partnered with HRX to launch Mission Protein, a nationwide initiative aimed at improving protein awareness and access.

  • An urban forest takes root inside India Art Fair as Max Estates commissions a living installation

Design head Saumya Saxena says the project reflects a long-term view where art, ecology, and community stewardship intersect

Noida, 5 February 2026: Max Estates Limited has brought a living forest into the heart of the India Art Fair 2026 through FOREST II, a site specific installation by Sri Lankan born Austrian artist Raki Nikahetiya. Commissioned by Max Estates, the work reimagines the art fair installation not as a temporary exhibit but as a regenerative ecosystem designed to endure beyond the fair.
FOREST II is conceived as a walled forest rather than an object, challenging the ephemerality of exhibition culture. The installation is a fully functional, Miyawaki inspired pocket forest composed of more than 200 native and endangered plant species suited to the semi arid climate of the Delhi NCR region. Through dense, multi layered planting, the forest is designed to accelerate ecological succession, restore biodiversity, and create habitat within a compact urban footprint.

The sculptural enclosure of the installation has been constructed using approximately ten tonnes of reclaimed metal sourced from Max Estates’ construction sites, reinforcing the developer’s approach to responsible material reuse. Within this structure, a mix of canopy, understory, and groundcover species contributes to soil regeneration, microclimate cooling, and the return of birds, butterflies, and pollinators to the space.
Speaking about the collaboration, Saumya Saxena, Head of Design at Max Estates, said the installation reflects the company’s belief in creating spaces that last and improve lives responsibly. She said the partnership with Raki Nikahetiya allowed Max Estates to extend its LiveWell philosophy into the cultural realm, where art, environmental care, and community impact develop together over time.

The artist described FOREST II as a process rather than a static artwork. Raki Nikahetiya said the installation invites a slower engagement with the city, recognising care, time, and coexistence as essential elements of making. He said the growing forest affirms that regeneration is a collective act and demonstrates how nature can return to dense urban environments through sustained stewardship.
Visitors access the installation through an opening in a four metre high wall, entering a shaded, immersive landscape designed to be experienced rather than observed. Layers of soil, emerging canopy, and a future oriented soundscape experienced through headphones create a multisensory encounter that foregrounds environmental resilience within the city.

FOREST II has been conceived with a permanent legacy beyond the fair. Following India Art Fair 2026, Max Estates’ landscaping team will relocate and continue to nurture the forest at one of the company’s developments. There, the installation will continue to grow as a living community asset, contributing to carbon capture, soil enrichment, and long term ecological value.
FOREST II is on view at India Art Fair 2026 from 5 to 8 February at the NSIC Grounds, New Delhi.

  • Lower power costs take centre stage as MSMEs get a new route to rooftop solar adoption

Axis Bank introduces a collateral free financing product aimed at helping small businesses shift to self owned solar energy systems

Mumbai, 5 February 2026: Axis Bank has introduced Rooftop Solar Finance, a dedicated financing solution designed to support micro, small, and medium enterprises in adopting solar energy and reducing long term power costs through energy self reliance.
The product enables MSMEs to install self owned rooftop solar systems without stressing working capital or balance sheets. Under the offering, eligible enterprises can access collateral free loans ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹2 crore, with flexible repayment tenures between four and seven years.

According to the bank, the structure is aimed at making solar adoption financially viable for small businesses by aligning loan repayments with the savings generated from lower electricity expenses. By shifting to rooftop solar, MSMEs can gain greater predictability over energy costs while improving operational resilience.
The financing solution is available across India through Axis Bank’s branch network. To support execution quality, the bank has partnered with leading original equipment manufacturers to ensure reliable system installation and performance standards.

Axis Bank has also tied up with a technology partner to provide MSMEs with end to end visibility throughout the solar adoption process. This includes clarity on system costs, estimated energy savings, and execution timelines, helping businesses make informed investment decisions.

The launch comes as MSMEs face rising energy expenses and increasing pressure to improve sustainability performance. By enabling access to solar infrastructure ownership, the bank said the initiative supports both cost optimisation for enterprises and India’s broader clean energy transition.
Axis Bank said the product reflects its focus on building practical financial solutions that help MSMEs adopt renewable energy while strengthening long term business viability.
